Sydney International Horse Trials will be held this Friday to Sunday, 11-14 May.

#SydHT showcases Eventing at its best.  Watch Olympians Stuart Tinney and Megan Jones as well as rising stars including Adelaide CCI4* winner Hazel Shannon and Australian CIC3* Champion Gemma Tinney.

The timetable is as follows;

When the team of Matt Ryan, Andrew Hoy and Gillian Rolton  won team gold at the Barcelona Olympics in 1992, they broke a 32 year gold medal drought for Australia. The Australians then went on to successfully defended their title in Atlanta in 1996 – winning back -to -back gold.

The 90’s were a golden era for Australian eventing  and selecting only 3 horses from the pool of talent from this decade …was no mean feat! Continue reading “BACK ON TOP”


The 80’s got off to a tumultuous start for the Australian eventers – with their boycott of the Moscow Olympics in 1980. Instead, the Australians competed at the “Alternative Olympics” in Fontainbleau and ultimately secured the team bronze.

In 1986 the World Eventing Championships were held in the Southern Hemisphere for the first time, in Gawler in SA. The Australians were successful in securing another team bronze on home soil. Continue reading “THE AWESOME 80’s”
